Danelectro 1958 3021 Shorthorn

This is a “3021” model built in 1958, the first year the Short Horn model was released.

Unlike models from 1959 onward, it features a pickguard shape known as the “kidney” or “blob” shape, as well as controls and a jack mounted directly onto the body.

All electronic components—including the pickups, pots, and capacitors—are original; only the frets and one pickguard screw have been replaced.

Although this model does not feature a truss rod, the neck is generally straight, and the current string action at the 12th fret is 1.7 mm on the 6th string and 1.6 mm on the 1st string, making it playable.

The 4th string tuner is bent, but this does not affect playability.

The side veneer of the body shows yellowing and color unevenness due to age, and there is a marker inscription (letters and numbers) near the neck-side strap pin. Additionally, there are tiny dents and paint chips throughout the guitar, reflecting its age-appropriate cosmetic condition.
