本日ご紹介するのは

Steinberger Klein GK4S (Black/Rasta)

 

渋谷は風がビュービュー吹いておりますが、そんな土曜日にはちょっと変なギターでもいっときましょう。

 

ということで、スタインバーガーのネックが付いたクラインです（クラインのボディーが付いたスタインバーガーといってもいいのですが、とにかく２社の間で作られたものです）。

 

この手のものはジャズやフュージョン弾きの人たちが使っているイメージを勝手に持っているのですが、関係なくブルースを弾いてやりました。

 

EMGピックアップは無色透明。さらに生鳴りは全くないとはいいませんが(6弦弾いたときは少し感じます)、基本的に出音はピックアップとアンプで構成されます。

 

試しにアンプをTwo RockとFenderの２種類で出してみたのですが、この２種のアンプの特性がはっきりと出ました。

クリーンの音はすごくバランスが良くて、特にTwo Rockを通したときは綺麗でした。

 

特に驚いたのは座って弾いたときの持ち心地の良さ。

この独特のボディーシェイプは人間工学に基づいて設計されているようで、体とネックとの距離感や、ボディーのショルダー部分に腕を乗せたときの全体的な位置関係がちょうどいい。

 

このピッタリ感は皆さんにも味わっていただきたいものです。

My pick for today is…
Steinberger Klein GK4S (Black/Rasta)

 

Now here’s a unique one for your Saturday pleasure.

 

A Klein with a Steinberger neck (it was made this way between the two companies).

 

I personally have an image of these being played by jazz/fusion guys, but what the heck, I played some blues on it anyways.

 

The EMG pickups are very transparent, and since there is almost no resonance in the body (I’m not going to say none, because you feel some when you play the low E-string), the tone is conjoured from the pickups and the amp. Period.

 

I played through a Two Rock and a Fender just for fun, and you clearly feel the difference between the two amps.

I actually liked playing it clean, especially through the Two Rock.

 

What amazed me was the comfortable feel when you play it sitting down.

The unusual body shape is thoroughly designed for this, and the distance between your body and the neck, where your arm rests on the shoulder of the guitar, everything is just right.

 

It’s a pretty darn cool guitar.
