本日ご紹介するのは
2015 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt ’52 Telecaster Relic by Jason Smith (Vintage Natural)です。

 

上等なブラックガードはやっぱりいい。

 

この個体は3.00kgととても軽量。

その分、開放弦をストロークすると「ガラーン」ととても乾いたいい鳴りがして、高音域の倍音が豊かです。

こういう鳴り方するのはいいテレの証ですわ。

 

リアピックアップは痛い高音はなく、その分立ち上がりの良いアタックとふくらみのある中域があり、気持ちいい”クアック”が出ます。

 

フロントはこの重さにしてはいい”トゥワング”があり、重さのある個体と比べるとローのタイトさはやや劣るものの、バンドと混ざったときに余分なローが出ない分帯域の棲み分けはしやすそうな印象です。

 

2つのピックアップがちゃんといい音してたら両方鳴らしても悪い訳がない。

ミドルポジションは音が痩せず、少し速めのパッセージなんか弾いてあげればコロコロと転がっていくような小気味よいトーンが楽しめます。

My pick for today is…
2015 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt ’52 Telecaster Relic by Jason Smith (Vintage Natural).

 

How about this Blackguard?

 

Light as a feather (well actually 6.61lbs), and rings like a bell.

 

The body has a very dry resonance and with a good amount of harmonics on the top end.

You know you’ve got a good Tele when it rings like this unplugged.

 

The bridge pickup has a great quack, no harsh treble, and it will definitely do its thing when you bust out your country licks.

 

The neck pickup has a good twang despite its weight, and though the low end is not as tight as heavier ones, it makes things easier to control your sonic territory inside a band.

 

When you have two great sounding pickups, playing through both can’t be that bad. And it’s not.

The middle position doesn’t get flimsy like some guitars, and you’ve got a light tone that trickles down when you play some fast passages.

 

Honestly, this thing is great.
